SONGS THE BODY KNOWS
2007 INSPIRATIONS AND EVENTS

We invite you to experience the further unfoldment of the “Songs the Body Knows” workshop into a richer and more radiant process that we now know as: “Songs the Body Knows: Opening to the Rapture of Being Alive!” This unfoldment has come forward through the wonderfully intense workshops this past season, an extended period of exploration in opening to the powerful elemental forces in the Southwest, and the daily opening to the profound wisdom and inspiration of the body. This is the direction the duende is flowing for our workshop experiences together as we begin 2007.

SONGS THE BODY KNOWS: OPENING TO THE RAPTURE OF BEING ALIVE!

"I don’t think people are really seeking the meaning of Life. I think we’re seeking an experience of being alive... we want to feel the rapture of being alive..."
Joseph Campbell, The Power of Myth

In our lifetime, we will receive no greater gift than that given to us by our parents at the moment of conception. In the moment of that union, we were granted the miracle of life. And, since that moment, each day has offered a multitude of enriching life experiences. Yet – as adults – many of us carry the sense that our lives are not as fulfilling as they could be. And we yearn to feel more fully alive.
From prehistory to present day, individuals and groups have experienced the rapture of being alive by surrendering to spontaneous movement and vocalization. Through freely flowing movement and sound, they have celebrated all of the experiences of their lives…and within these experiences, they have found wellbeing and complete fulfillment.
Participants in this workshop will be invited to explore spontaneous sound, movement and touch as portals into an ever expanding feeling of aliveness. Together, we will discover the capability of our bodies to spontaneously express their love of life: like Zorba the Greek, each sound…each movement…will overflow with passion, deep feeling and rich life experience.
